TONIGHT - Body, Mind and Wellness Workshop

Tonight is the Body, Mind, and Wellness Workshop at 6:30. My friend just emailed me about it and thought that everyone would love to know about it. The Secret of Breath, a mind, body wellness and stress management seminar, is a free community service initiative by The Art of Living Foundation. You will learn some simple yet powerful breathing-techniques, experience a guided meditation, and learn about the tendencies of your mind.

This one hour seminar will teach us how we can consciously use our breath to:

  • Manage our emotions
  • Release stress and bring clarity to the mind
  • Live in the present moment

The way I look at this is that I have there is nothing to lose by going to this event. I am always wanting to learn new techniques to reduce stress and get centered. After a while the same routines start wearing off, so it’s good to have new ones ready to go.

The event is located at Northwest Branch Library - 11355 Regency Green Drive Cypress, TX 77429.

How do you relieve stress daily?

Eclipse will be in theaters tonight! I can’t wait to see the movie, I loved the first one. I watched some of the trailers and they graphics look amazing. Bella has to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob. And while struggling with this decision she is surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. I can’t wait to see who she picks.

Who do you think Bella is going to pick?

Happy Hours

I have been going to a lot of places around town lately to find out where the best Happy Hours are located. It’s nice to go have a few drinks with friends after work and not have to go place to place looking for somewhere fun to go. Below is a list of the 5 places I recommend for Happy Hour:

  • Candelari’s Pizzeria - Happy Hour is from 3p.m. to 7p.m.
  • Taisho’s Steak and Sushi - Happy Hour is from 3:00p.m. to 5p.m. I know it’s a little early, but it’s great for half days!
  • Mike’s Ultimate - They have trivia on Wednesday nights
  • Antonia’s - Ladies martini nights on Wednesdays nights
  • Masones - They have an early happy hour from 11a.m. to 7p.m. which is nice since the World Cup is going on right now.

What other places do you recommend downtown?

I have been wanting to see it, but haven’t had time.

Cirque Du Soleil

Tickets are on sale for Alegria a Cirque Du Soleil show!

The show is June 16th - June 20th. You can find out more information about the venue and tickets on Berrycenter.net. I am so excited about this show! I have seen a total for 3 Cirque Du Soleil shows, Quidam, Corteo and Kooza. Each show was breathtaking and very interesting. The way the stories are portrayed you have to stay tuned in or else you’ll miss something. The dance and athleticism is amazing.

Alegria is a mood, a state of mind. It’s the power and the handing down of power over time, the evolution from ancient monarchies to modern democracies, old age and youth.

The clip below has me really stoked:

Free Press Summer Fest 2010 is this weekend!

This music and arts festival will be held June 5th and 6th at Buffalo Bayou’s Eleanor Tinsley Park and will feature more than 50+ national and local musical performers, visual arts and games. It will be from 12pm to 10pm both nights.

This year is the Grammy Award winning band The Flaming Lips will be on stage. The overall lineup is incorporating a wider geographic range. The festival welcomes the addition of a third stage and an exciting expansion of the scope and area of artist installations. Also, festival-goers can take a break from the heat and browse dozens of local artisan booths, cool off in one of the misting tents and grab an icy cold adult beverage in the shaded beer garden.

This event is going to be huge! I can’t wait to see what other musicians they have brought in for this festival. You can find out more about this event by visiting VisitHoustonTexas.com

Did you go to this festival last year?

This Saturday is the Young Talent Showcase at the Houston Premium Outlets.

If you are looking for something to do this weekend, come and check out the Young Talent Showcase. Take a break from shopping at the Houston Premium Outlets and watch these talented kids as they try to reach their dreams. I love watching kids perform! It’s so amazing when you see a tiny little girl, then you hear her voice and say to yourself “Where does that come from?”

The showcase is from 1:00pm to 5:00pm in the Cowboy Court and it’s presented by Coca-Cola.

See how amazing this little girl is:
