Cheap Cleaners That Work
Posted on June 16, 2010 · Leave a CommentI am always looking for ways to save money. I found this very interesting article on cheap cleaners. I was surprised because I already had all of these products in my house; I just used them for other things. Below are the 4 items that work as cleaners too:
- Baking Soda - This is great for scrubbing getting stains and marks out. You can also use it to help kill smells that are coming from the sink.
- Lemons - It can help get dirt and grease out of clothing. You just need to mix it with some vinegar and sea salt.
- Hydrogen Peroxide - Removed stains from colored clothing without making it lighter.
- Distilled White Vinegar - Great for removing hard water stains and grease.
I love cleaning and trying new things, so I can’t wait to use these new little tricks around the house.
What other cheap cleaner tips do you have?

5 Veggie Myths You Must Know
Posted on June 10, 2010 · Leave a CommentThere are so many different suggestions out there regarding vegetable nutrition. Some sources say you should eat them raw and some say it’s better to cook them. I decided to take it a step further, I read about 10 various articles and put together the most common myths I found regarding vegetables. Below is the list I compiled of 5 Veggie myths you must know about:
- Pre-washed means that you can eat your greens right out the bag. This is not true because there still can be bacteria and residue, so make sure to clean them before eating.
- Potatoes make you fat. It’s not the actual potato, it’s the ingredients used to cook the potatoes.
- Iceberg doesn’t have any nutrients. This is only half true, if you get a big head of iceberg lettuce it will have small amount of vitamins and minerals. It’s best just to get something like romaine lettuce.
- Cooked veggies are less nutritious than raw veggies. This is only partially true; cooking them actually releases some of the vitamins and makes it easier to digest.
- Fresh vegetables are better than frozen vegetables. This is not true because as soon as the veggie is picked it loses some nutrients. When you freeze it, you actually stop it from losing more opposed to fresh veggies.
What other veggie myths do you have to share?

Cirque Du Soleil
Posted on June 8, 2010 · Leave a CommentTickets are on sale for Alegria a Cirque Du Soleil show!
The show is June 16th - June 20th. You can find out more information about the venue and tickets on Berrycenter.net. I am so excited about this show! I have seen a total for 3 Cirque Du Soleil shows, Quidam, Corteo and Kooza. Each show was breathtaking and very interesting. The way the stories are portrayed you have to stay tuned in or else you’ll miss something. The dance and athleticism is amazing.
Alegria is a mood, a state of mind. It’s the power and the handing down of power over time, the evolution from ancient monarchies to modern democracies, old age and youth.
The clip below has me really stoked:
Free Press Summer Fest 2010
Posted on June 4, 2010 · Leave a CommentFree Press Summer Fest 2010 is this weekend!
This music and arts festival will be held June 5th and 6th at Buffalo Bayou’s Eleanor Tinsley Park and will feature more than 50+ national and local musical performers, visual arts and games. It will be from 12pm to 10pm both nights.
This year is the Grammy Award winning band The Flaming Lips will be on stage. The overall lineup is incorporating a wider geographic range. The festival welcomes the addition of a third stage and an exciting expansion of the scope and area of artist installations. Also, festival-goers can take a break from the heat and browse dozens of local artisan booths, cool off in one of the misting tents and grab an icy cold adult beverage in the shaded beer garden.
This event is going to be huge! I can’t wait to see what other musicians they have brought in for this festival. You can find out more about this event by visiting VisitHoustonTexas.com
Did you go to this festival last year?

AT&T: No More Unlimited Data
Posted on June 3, 2010 · Leave a CommentI thought all of you AT&T customers or future AT&T customers would like to know that they are changing their data plans and are not going to offer unlimited data anymore for their smartphones. This starts on Monday June7th.
Since I am an AT&T customer, I currently pay $30 for my data plan and I DO NOT have to change my plan if I don’t want to. The 2 new options are $25 for 2GB of Data or $15 fro 200MB. If you go over on the 2GB plan, they will charge you an additional $10 for an additional 1 GB and if you go over on the 200MB, they will charge you $15 for an additional 200MB.
Once I heard about this news, I went into my account to see how I am going to proceed. I am a pretty heavy data user, so I will probably change to the $25 plan and save the extra $5. I think that it’s great that AT&T is offering these options, but I don’t think it’s wise that they are getting rid of their unlimited data plan. They are also making this change for iPad as well.
What are your thoughts on this change?

Best Sushi in Town
Posted on June 2, 2010 · Leave a CommentI went to Edojin yesterday and the sushi was yummy! I am vegetarian and I don’t eat seafood. I split Edamame and Tempura for appetizers which were delicious. I know you can’t really go wrong making Edamame. The Tempura was perfectly cooked and the veggies tasted fresh. For my meal, I asked them to make me a special vegetarian role. It had cucumber, carrots and mushrooms in it with brown rice which was delicious. Everything tasted very fresh. My friend eats meat; and he ordered Rocky Mountain Roll and Volcano Roll. He loved both of them.
We will definitely be coming here again. The chef was also very helpful and kind. We sat at the bar so he would give us samples to taste while we were waiting on our food.
The restaurant is located at 12344 Barker Cypress Rd. 77429
Have you eaten at Edojin before? What is your favorite item on the menu?
